Has your wife/partner experienced unintended pregnancy or pregnancy loss, like miscarriage, still birth or after an abortion?
We understand that men are affected by pregnancy loss too, and we often see men in counselling. The husband of a past client described how it affected him:
“My wife told me she was expecting again around the turn of the year. I remember the main emotions being those you would expect; joy, happiness and excitement. This was also to be our second child so I also had apprehension given the memory of early weeks and months with a new born was fresh.
There was also a feeling of satisfaction as things were falling into place. We had tried hard to have our family, and whereas once it looked impossible, we were now going to have our second – everything was going to plan…”

"I think everyone should talk about miscarriages because I found that people don’t talk about it unless they’ve had a similar experience. It also helps to have counselling that is specific to miscarriages due to the sensitivity of the topic". Male Client, for miscarriage.
"I’ve found counselling with Acorn a much needed tool to help manage my emotions following a significant loss. Having a safe space to express my thoughts and feelings, whilst getting impartial guidance on how to manage them". Male Client, for loss of twins.
